The United States Department of Justice indicted Mr. K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao for his role in the "Titanium Scandal". The full text of the indictment can be read here.
Maybe people have not realized the full impact of this scandal and the potential other scandals it can expose. The Central Bureau of Investigation has to start a new investigation (or re-open the existing investigation) from this new information that has come to light against Y.S.R's soul-mate. Also, licenses for every mining related activity granted during the late Y.S.R's regime need to be investigated.
This throws up an old culprit from the Emaar Scam mentioned in this blog -> Mr. Koneru Prasad of the Trimex Group. Interestingly, Mr. Koneru Prasad's Trimex group was granted mining licenses for Titanium and other minerals in Andhra Pradesh. Also interestingly, Mr. Koneru Prasad is running for elections from guess which party, the Y.S.R congress party!!! Looks like all the scamsters have setup a party to start new scams!!! He has spent some time in jail, just like the chief of his party!! The CBI needs to investigate Mr. Koneru Prasad's Trimex group and how the licenses for mining were obtained to mine rare minerals of Andhra Pradesh.
And the prime benefactor of all these scams during the Y.S.R era of course is Mr. Y.S. JaganMohan Reddy, who fortunately for him, did not sign or participate in the backroom deals and hence avoided getting indicted by the US DOJ. However, KVP's indictment ties him indirectly to these scams.
Will the Indian government hand over Mr. KVP to the US? Probably not, since he has a lot of dirt on kick backs paid to the higher ups in the Congress Party during YSR's time.
The Central Bureau of Investigation is stated to have said that they don't have evidence against K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao to arrest him. Mr. K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao, known mostly as KVP, is a clever and cunning individual. He only acted as an advisor to YSR and did not sign on any piece of paper, so there is no evidence against him any of the malaise of corruption permeated by the late YSR and his son, Y.S. Jagan. KVP has amassed a massive amount of wealth beyond his known sources of income. It is public knowledge that his and his wife's relatives are now an enriched lot. KVP has purchased hundreds of crores of benami assets on most of his relatives names. All the CBI needs to do is go after all the relatives.
KVP's nephew, Krishna Mohan, is the prime benami in this sordid saga. It is alleged that he carried suitcases full of cash to the Congress biggies in New Delhi, during the YSR era and post YSR's death.
KVP has also parked most of his ill gotten wealth in the emirates of Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah. His son is posted in Dubai to convert all this illegitimate wealth to white money by laundering it one way or the other.
CBI needs to investigate all the above and arrest this crony of corruption.
As the son-in-law of this nation's unofficial leader has aptly put it - "Mango People in the Banana Republic", he has officially come out and said what most people would be flogged for saying - India is a Banana Republic!
As the skeletons are tumbling out of the closet and more is officially and publicly being said of the corruption of the leading politicians in this country, you would expect anger and outrage amongst the people. But no, we are Mango people! The voting population of this country has had very short memories and is easily won by fake emotion and drama. All our politicians are very well versed in public display of movie style emotional drama.
The moral fibre of this nation has eroded to an all time low. The voting population does not give a damn about corruption of individual politicians. They suffer daily from the amount of bribes that they have to pay to get any routine work done by the bureaucracy. As long as the politician is able to give some freebies, the voting population will not care about the individual's corruption. After all the voting public is being bribed to vote for who gives the most! The politicians have figured out this winning formula and have been perfecting and improving it. Hence, we see politicians fighting over each other to give the most freebies to the public.
Only when the people of this nation start thinking about their future generations will they outgrow this mentality for short-term gain.
Can anyone encourage their children to vote for corrupt politicians? If you can, you should also tell them that should cheat, rob, steal, kill, loot, plunder, pillage their neighbours and friends. That is exactly what you are doing by voting for and supporting corrupt politicians.
We need to have a change from the existing political parties in both state and the centre.
The Congress party has all but lost it's ability to regain power in Andhra Pradesh. The choice is between Y.S. Jagan and others. We have to choose between evils.
The main reason Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is fighting for power is to get leverage and blackmail the central government to drop all the cases against him, when he gets enough MP seats in Andhra Pradesh. He may very well succeed!
Think about the future of this state when Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and his cronies take over the state. Magnify whatever bad has happened during Y.S.R's regime in this state by 10 times and you will get the picture!
In one fell swoop he will decimate this states assets and natural resources!
Let us make this country a true Republic of India and not a Banana Republic.
I would like to express my gratitude, as many countless others would, to the brave men and women of the Central Bureau of Investigation investigating the corruption cases in Andhra Pradesh with unflinching courage. You will always be remembered as true heroes of this nation and make it proud. Hats off to you!
We should always remember that there those who choose the tough life of sacrifice and honesty and don't fall for the easy traps of corruption. They could choose the easy life for their family by taking bribes, but blemish their name and their family's name forever. Those who choose the honest path are the ones the people of India need to recognize and salute! Not fraud and corrupt politicians who do drama and evoke foolish sympathy.
The main beneficiary of the Quid-Pro-Quo scams during the tenure of the late Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy is Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy. However, the brain behind the methodology and the strategy was Dr. K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao, the close confidante of Y.S.R. He is alleged to have drafted an elaborate plan to enable YSR and his family amass massive wealth if he were to become a Chief Minister in 2004. The grandness and scope of the plan was such that it kept only a single term in mind for execution of the plan to amass wealth that would enable YSR and his family/friends to live in a grand manner for countless generations. The reward he got for this grand plan was a cut/hafta/commission in every deal to the tune of 25%. He even advised YSR to share the spoils with the powers to be in the Congress office in New Delhi so that they don't cause any problems with their plans. He arranged timely transport of suitcases and briefcases to New Delhi whenever there was a need for funds. It is alleged that these suitcases and briefcases came in handy during the 1-2-3 nuclear agreement vote as payoffs. With this intimate knowledge of how much money was sent to New Delhi and to whom it was handed off to, KVP has the power to bring down the Congress higher ups. Hence, he is being protected from prosecution in this scam which is his brainchild.
Everyone in Andhra Pradesh is well aware that Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy is enjoying the fruits of corruption from his late father's regime. It doesn't take an expert in forensic auditing to figure out that his new found wealth from his so called business ventures are just round tripped money laundered contributions for the largesses that the late YSR showered upon "investors". Even Y.S. Jagan's own loyalists agree to this, in private. This corruption is being justified as righteous, since the assumption is that the spoils will be used for the benefit of Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy's friends and loyalists. A confused and fragile Congress government in the state has lost confidence of the common man, despite coming up with populist schemes to attract and retain potential voters for the next election. The separate statehood agitation has split the state into two parts for two separate fiefdoms. The dominant portion of telanagana region is now a TRS (Telangana Rashtra Samithi) stronghold. Y.S. Jagan has understood this and is clearly staying from this turf since he has favored a united Andhra Pradesh. He is alleged to have come to a tacit understanding with K. Chandrasekhar Rao, the TRS supremo, to that extent. The rest of Andhra Pradesh is being developed as the political turf for the corrupt Y.S. Jagan and his cronies. The confidence that Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy has that if he is arrested, his mother Y.S. Vijayamma will lead the party and capitalize on the sympathy from any such arrest and bring down the government in power. This is simply a game of political calculations and exploiting the common man's blind sympathy. The Central Bureau of Investigation is doing a tremendous job of investigating the blatant crimes committed during the Y.S.R regime. However, the sooner it starts seizing and freezing Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy's assets and his cash resources, the better it is for the state and the country. People like Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy are becoming role models for future generations. Let us not let such people become role models. They need to made examples of criminals that should not remain free and their wealth stripped from them. Without this wealth, he will soon lose most of his so called loyalists who are in it just for money.
It is a well known fact that the liquor mafia all over India is run with the aid of politicians and the police. It does not come as a surprise that the ACB raids in Andhra Pradesh have revealed the whos who of Politics, the police, and the excise department being on the take. It also reveals something that already was known, that the CPM and CPI leadership in Andhra Pradesh are heavily corrupt. They may extort money from businesses and shops in the name of the party fund for such events as the recently concluded Communist Party Grandeur in Khammam, but in reality most of it is pocketed for their own causes.
Puvvada Nageswara Rao of the CPI Party was one of the people named by the ACB who took money from the liquor mafia. Puvvada Nageswara Rao is just one of the examples of corruption amongst the corrupt communists of Andhra Pradesh. If the communists did not know he was corrupt, they must be blind and deaf! This gentleman established a Medical College in 1992 by using his extortion techniques and trading away the CPI vote bank and in return getting the permission to setup this medical college. Ask any common man and they will tell you how much a Medical seat donation will cost you in this medical college!! His reputation for corruption is very well known!
The communists of Andhra Pradesh are easily compromised by "gifts". Even in the Emaar Boulder hills scam, their silence was bought by Emaar by gifting them a so called party office in a prime piece of land adjoining the Outer Ring Road and the Boulder hills golf course. Whatever noise that the CPM and CPI make against Emaar are token protests so that they are not caught with their pants down.

It is a welcome decision by the Honorable Andhra Pradesh High Court to have the CBI conduct a probe in to Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy's assets. Why not extend the investigation to all individuals and companies that benefited during the late YSR's regime? The prime benefactor outside of YSR's family is Mr. K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao, who is alleged to have amassed over Rs. 30,000 crores during the late YSR's regime. Why not include him in the investigation? This will negate Jagan's argument to the Supreme Court that he is being targeted by the Congress party since he has launched his own political platform. Why not also investigate all the beneficiaries of the massive projects that were launched during the late YSR's regime - for example, The brothers Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy who benefitted enormously from Jalayagnam.
Also why not extend the investigation to Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu and his role in the initial Emaar Boulder Hills allocation?? It is a well known fact that he made advantage of his knowledge of the location of the current Hitech city and the initial Outer Ring Road alignment and through his Benami friends (Jayabheri Murali Mohan being the prime person) made massive purchases of land banks in these areas at throw away prices. He also had dealings with the now infamous Mr. Suresh Kalmadi with whose help he conducted the Afro-Asian games in 2003.
As I had written in my blog post on April 8th 2011, supporting the Anti-corruption fight led by Anna Hazare, not to let people like Ramdev lead you astray from the fight against corruption. As I had suspected, using his massive wealth, he has started his own pseudo agitation to get political mileage from what Anna Hazare started. Poor Anna Hazare was not aware of all these leeches that would suck out the agitation from him and unwittingly let them share his stage.
I am dropping the "Baba" title since he doesn't deserve it. His good work in spreading yoga to the masses is admirable. He should stick to just doing and not dabbling into politics. His wealth and sources of income are mysterious and raise a lot of questions. India doesn't need someone as mysterious as Ramdev to be a leader of the masses.
Jagan Reddy, India’s richest politician, lied to EC on assets

Last Friday, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, son of the late Andhra Pradesh Congress Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, registered a thumping win over his hapless Congress rival in the Kadapa Lok Sabha by-election. Reddy, 39, polled 687,068 votes, yielding him an almost unheard of victory margin of 5,43,053 votes over Ravindra Reddy of the Congress.
Yet, this hyperpopular mandate – meant to prove that he is YSR’s true political heir – has been built on what looks like a fib. According to his election affidavit, Jagan Reddy is India’s richest Member of Parliament with declared assets (net of liabilities) valued at Rs 365 crore. His wife has properties, cash and jewellery worth Rs 47.25 crore (net of liabilities). That a mere MP can accumulate so much wealth is anyway cause for concern; that he has not disclosed all his assets – often held by proxies – shows how the powerful manipulate the system to accumulate wealth for their own ends.
What is going to earn him infamy is the fact that Jagan has misled the Commission about his assets. For example, he did not declare his palatial houses in Hyderabad and Bangalore worth over Rs 200 crore (see video).
His house in HUDA Heights, Lotus Pond area of Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, is under construction. Jagan has cleverly concealed his ownership of a massive mansion in Bangalore, which has a private helipad. It is located in the Green Belt area of Yelahanka. This property is valued at over Rs 100 crore (see video).
Jagan’s wealth would not have been problematic but for the speed with which he acquired it. In 2004, when Jagan’s father YSR Reddy was yet to become the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, he had only Rs 8.19 lakh of assets. Clearly, being the son of a Chief Minister is not injurious to one’s acquisitive streak.
Five years later (in 2009), by the time YSR completed his first term as CM, his son’s assets together with that of his wife had jumped to Rs 77.40 crore. Just two years later, he and his wife were worth Rs 410 crore. And we know he hasn’t disclosed everything.
While little is known about the Bangalore property, details of how Jagan acquired the plots in the HUDA Heights Lotus Pond area of Banjara Hills are now available with Firstpost.
The sale deeds reveal a well-worn style of operation used by people who have something to hide. Documents accessed by Firstpost investigation partner THL-Mediagrove reveal how four ‘front’ companies (companies that are typically created to shield against legal or tax liability without any seeming operations) of Jagan acquired six adjoining plots in this manner:
Marvel Infrastructure purchased Plot 6 in Huda Heights for Rs 4.31 crore
Records show that Harish Chenna Veerappa Kamarthy is the key person in Jagan’s companies. He is a director in Marvel Infrastructure. The company came into existence on 31 January 2006 and the other director is Ramesh Babu.
Both the directors invested Rs 1,000 each and the capital is Rs 26.42 crore.
On 10 April 2008, the company purchased plot no 6 in HUDA Heights for Rs 4.31 crore (Rs 4,31,88,990 to be exact). Official records accessed on behalf of Firstpost reveal that Rs 20.24 crore was invested into this company by Classic Reality, while Sandur Power’s investment is Rs 1.35 crore and Silicon Builders invested Rs 4.80 crore. All the three companies are owned by Jagan.
Jagan directly invested Rs 3.05 lakh in shares of in this company.
Harish Infrastructure purchased Plot 8 for Rs 4.10 crore
The company was created on 18 January 2007 with Harish Chenna Veerappa Kamarthy and Jagan’s wife Bharathi Reddy as its directors with an investment of Rs 4.98 crore.
On 28 January 2008, the company purchased plot no. 8 in HUDA Heights for Rs 4,10,50,000 (Rs 4.10 crore). The shareholding pattern of this company, too, is interesting. While one of the directors, Harish Chenna Veerappa Kamarthy, invested just Rs 1,000, Jagan’s wife Bharathi Reddy invested Rs 98,000. Jagan’s Sandur Power invested Rs 4.97 crore.
The company lent Rs 40 lakh to an anonymous person in the 2007-08 fiscal year.
Documentation accessed by Firstpost’s partner THL-Mediagrove reveal that this company strangely does not have any operational expenditure that would naturally be incurred in running the company, including salary payment of its employees.
Capstone Infrastructure purchased Plots 3 & 4 for Rs 4.47 and Rs 4 crore respectively
The company came into existence on 1 June 2007 with Harish Chenna Veerappa Kamarthy and AV Raju as its directors. Since inception, the company pays only Rs 25,000 towards the salaries of its employees, which is a poor reflection of the business operations of this infrastructure company.
Four months after its incorporation, on 13 October 2007, the company accomplished the purpose of its creation by purchasing plot no 4 in HUDA Heights for Rs 4 crore.
On 1 January* 2009, it spent Rs 4.47crore to purchase plot no. 3 in HUDA Heights.
Jagan’s Classic Realty has spent Rs 4.42 crore to acquire shares in the company.
Jagan’s Sandur Power – his key business interest apart from property – has invested Rs 1 lakh and Jagan’s Silicon Builders invested Rs 4.30 crore. The same company again invested Rs 1 crore and an anonymous company invested another Rs 70 lakh during this period.
Utopia Infrastructure purchased Plots 2 & 7 for Rs 1.37 crore and Rs 3.76 crore.
Jagan’s uncle EC Gangi Reddy, aunt EC Suguna and his close associate B Ramesh Babu floated the company with just Rs 1 lakh on 12 June 2006.
Gangi Reddy and Suguna brought in Rs 50,000 each as their initial investment. A year after it was incorporated the company purchased a plot of land in HUDA Heights, Lotus Pond area of Banjara Hills, for Rs 3,76,63,000 (Rs 3.76 crore).
The company shows that in the 2007-08 fiscal year, it borrowed Rs 4.5 crore from ‘a’ company, the identity of which remains anonymous. In the year 2009-10, the company received Rs 1.80 crore as application money from Silicon Builders. But in reality, Silicon Builders is another front company of Jagan.
Except for Utopia Infrastructure, all of the above mentioned companies, which acquired the six plots of land in Banjara Hills, are mentioned in Jagan’s declaration of assets in his 2011 election affidavit. Capstone is indirectly mentioned through the ownership of Sandur Power and Classic Realty.
Jagan’s modus operandi is old-fashioned; open several companies, transfer funds from one company to another and use these front companies to acquire assets. In his 2011 election affidavit he has revealed his direct and indirect ownership of 11 companies. These are:

Sandur Power Pvt. Ltd and Jagati Publication Limited (JPL) are Jagan’s flagship companies. JPL, in which Carmel Asia holds shares, operates his vast media business in Andhra Pradesh, including Sakshi TV Channel and Sakshi newspaper. At launch during the 2009 elections, JPL had managed to arm-twist many companies to invest in it, including Matrix Group, India Cement, Lanco, and, above all, B Ramalinga Raju, the Satyam promoter who is now in jail for mis-stating accounts and cheating investors.
A cursory glance at Sandur Power’s annual reports will show that it has several subsidiaries, such as:

Silicon Builders
It is important to note that while Jagan has declared his shareholding status in all other companies in his 2011 election affidavit, he has not mentioned Utopia Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd.
It is clear from the manner in which these companies are structured that they are front companies of Jagan Reddy. Interestingly Jagan’s mouthpiece, Sakshi newspaper, on 9 September 2010 admitted the ownership of the HUDA Heights Lotus Pond (Banjara Hills) plots in the name of Jagan Reddy and Sharmila Reddy.
The newspaper report stated that Jagan owned 3,800 square yards (or 3,177.283 square metres) of the property in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, and that his sister Sharmila Reddy owned 2,100 square yards (or 1755.867 square metres).
In effect, Jagan owns a 4,933.15 square metre plot in the poshest locality of Hyderabad. According to the current property rates in Hyderabad (if one goes by the current rate of Rs 5,737 per square feet in Banjara Hills) just the land price of this plot owned by Jagan Reddy is currently valued at Rs 30.46 crore.
But as mentioned earlier, the sale deeds of these plots show ownership in the name of four front companies of Jagan.
So Jagan’s fancy palace, rumoured to be the biggest house in Andhra Pradesh, is being constructed on Plots 2,3,4,6,7 and 8 of HUDA Heights, Lotus Pond (Banjara Hills).

The floor plans show 14 escalators, 10 lifts, a mini-theater of 200 seating capacity, libraries, squash court, gyms, marble flooring in about 60 rooms and bathrooms which are of the size of a single bedroom flat.
The current construction cost in Hyderabad’s Banjara Hills area is Rs 10,000 per square ft. So construction on Jagan’s 4,933.15 square metres, or 53,099.984 square feet, would cost Rs 53.09 crore.
Add to this the cost of the land currently valued at Rs 30.46 crore. According to the sale deeds the price paid for the acquiring the land is Rs 22.04 crore.
Jagan’s undeclared opulence is bound to taint his Kadapa by-poll victory because he deliberately with-held information on his massive properties worth hundreds of crore in Hyderabad and Bangalore.
Several political parties in Andhra have demanded a CBI enquiry. Senior TDP politician Yanamala Ramakrishnudu told THL-Mediagrove: “There should be a detailed CBI enquiry of his properties. He also resorted to a lot of Fema (Foreign Exchange Management Act) violations. Till 2004 he was a struggling industrialist with no profits from any of his companies; today he owns one of the biggest business empires in Andhra. His modus operandi is simple, abuse of power and benami transactions”.
Congress’s official spokesperson Tulasi Reddy feels Jagan’s property dealings are just the tip of a mammoth corruption iceberg. “His properties must be thoroughly investigated. No company has seen the share values increase so much. This is the heights of corruption. We demand a thorough investigation and necessary action has to be initiated”.
Let's all do our part and support Anna Hazare. However, be cautious of all the dubious characters that are popping out of the woodwork and trying to steal limelight from the intended goal of Anna Hazare's fast. Most of these people are more corrupt than people in power - for example: Baba Ramdev who has to explain what he does with all the money his trust earns and how it earns it. Don't be fooled by this character - he may have a done a lot of good work in spreading yoga, but he stinks! Reporters like Barkha Dutt are more corrupt than politicians. Corruption is not limited to just politicians and won't just go away by getting rid of them - it will just be some one else who dons the mantle. Bureaucrats, government officials, businessmen, and the press need to be under the same scrutiny as the politicians. Politicians have limited terms - but bureaucrats, govt. officials, businessmen and the press are always in power!
Y.S. Jagan's new palace is in it's finishing stages near Lotus Pond, in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. It is situated adjacent to the Press Photographers Colony. The construction work has created major problems for people living in the Press Photographers colony and people using the road next to lotus pond. Construction material is strewn all over the roads near his site and people cannot question or complain about it. If anyone dares to request the people located at the site to make way, they will get beat up by Jagan's rayalseema goons. Funny thing is that the cement he is using to build his house is Aparna ReadyMix and NOT Bharathi Cement!!! The board outside the buidling reads - "Bharathi Cement - Capstone Infra". Wonder if this whole project is funded through some shell company to hide the source of funding!!! You can see a continuous stream of Aparna ReadyMix Trucks waiting outside the building at all times of the day and even at night, causing problems for traffic.

God help Andhra Pradesh if this guy ever becomes a Chief Minister. He is able to abuse power now without any position in the state government, just think of what he can do if he gains more power.
Venus Energy owned by the kin of the veteran Congress leader, Mr. G. Venkataswamy, the so-called doyen of the backward class and the downtrodden, has been granted permission to take up a 20 MW hydro power project on the Silair river, between Orissa and Andhra Pradesh. This project has been granted permission despite the fact that it is in a tribal area and is a blatant violation of all laws that are in place to protect tribals. The State of Andhra Pradesh and/or the State of Orissa can very well take up this project with their own funds and there would be no loss to the exchequer and the funds can be used for the welfare of the downtrodden tribals of the Silair region. They could also make it a fair deal by opening up the project for open bidding for all companies and give it to the highest bidder.
The only party that will benefit from this deal is Mr. G. Venkataswamy and his kin. This is clearly using political influence for personal gain. When Mr. Rahul Gandhi is running around in Orissa to protect tribal interests, why can't he prevent his own partymen misusing state resources?

Consequences of not paying this bribe would mean that the postman is not sure the addressee stays at the address mentioned and could return the passport back to the passport office.

How many people pay these bribes? 99% of the people who apply for passports will pay these bribes since a passport is a vital travel document and no one will question the system.
APIIC babus, Mr B.P. Acharya and Mr D. Parthasarathi are behind many of the scrupulous land allocations done in the recent years. They are responsible for allowing Emaar to increase its stake and a reduction of stake for APIIC in the Boulder Hills project.
Incidentally, Mr. D. Parthasarathi is the brother-in-law of Mr. K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao. Mr. K.V.P Ramachandra Rao who is the personal advisor to the state government (deal broker) and the late YSR's partner in crime.
The Emaar MGF Boulder Hills saga started when Nara Chandrababu Naidu was the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. The government took away land from poor farmers in Nanakramguda in the guise of modernizing the city and gave them a pittance in compensation (which most of them have yet to receive). All this was done under the guise of the British-era land acquisition act, which gives absolute right to the government to snatch any land from the public.
The TDP government and APIIC alloted the land to Emaar MGF under a shady deal. In return, many of the APIIC babus and TDP politicos got prime villas for a pittance. Turn the clock forward and congress government came to power and immediately the YSR family and friends circle started looking for immediate sources of revenue. Emaar stake was reduced to 26% and more congress politicians and bureaucrats landed with prime villas in Emaar Boulder hills for a pittance.
In the end, it turns out that the state government didn't make a penny from this massive land giveaway to a Dubai based company. The farmers lost their livelihood. The politicians and bureaucrats made a killing by getting almost free prime land in the middle of a posh golf course. Emaar made a killing on golf memberships, villas, and apartments. The money went to Dubai.
Who loses? -> The people of the state of Andhra Pradesh and the poor farmers whose land was grabbed by the government.
Who gained? Telugu Desam Party politicans, Congress politicians, bureaucrats, and most of all Emaar of Dubai.
What is going to happen? Nothing. There will be a farce investigation. The same babu- B.P. Acharya- who was hand in glove with Emaar in reducing APIIC stake is supposed to conduct an impartial investigation into the scam. We all know what the outcome will be of this investigation.
When the Emaar Boulder Hills project was given to Emaar during the Telugu Desam government, APIIC had a 49% stake in the project. When Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy became Chief Minister, this stake magically reduced to 26% and subsequently to Zero! How did the initial 49% to 26% reduction occur? Were there any official orders issued for this? What was the reason?
I hear rumors about a certain Mr. Koneru Prasad of a company called Trimex Group was involved in this reduction of equity stake and in return the UAE emirate of Ras Al Khaimah gave a lot of goodies to YSR and his family.
